Our Aerospace Electronics group is at the forefront of delivering advanced avionics systems for commercial air transport and military aircraft. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in enhancing our manufacturing processes and ensuring product quality. The ideal candidate has a profound understanding of PCB design approaches for Hi-Speed circuitry. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from conducting tests and analyses to providing technical mentoring and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. The focus in this position is the ability to coordinate with other departments, outside organizations, customers, and suppliers to assure that organization requirements are met on time at the expected quality level and within scheduled commitments. Include the following: Conduct tests, experiments, and analyses to support new product development and improvements. Provide testability input to Engineering on new product development and designs. Support test of analog/digital circuits and embedded devices. Develop new processes, test methodologies and/or test department for improved quality, lower cycle times, and lower costs. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Gather and analyze information skillfully; work well in problem-solving situations. Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical aspects. Apply continuous improvement methods to enhance existing processes. Review production schedules, engineering specifications, and process flows. Support production, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards. Analyze and optimize workforce utilization, space, and workflow. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing quality and reduce costs. Collaborate with management and engineering to facilitate production processes. Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. Specify and design tooling fixtures, special machinery, and equipment. Interface with design engineering on product designs. Conduct operator training and perform equipment maintenance. Lead the execution of assigned projects. Review high-quality drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing documentation. Support prototype and development builds. Raise and action change notes to maintain accurate product records. Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote them to production staff. Resolve production issues proactively and prevent re-occurrence. Provide training to the Operations team on new processes and products. Troubleshoot build and test issues, collaborating with operators and test technicians. Integrate with the QA department to maintain high product yield. Assist the Operations manager in achieving targeted figures for OTD, PONC, and shipment targets. Additional job duties as required. Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering. Proficiency in electronic troubleshooting and reading schematics. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, detail and assembly drawings, measuring instruments, and PCB design approaches for Hi-Speed circuitry. Strong problem-solving skills and data analysis proficiency. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work on several projects at once. Familiarity with ATE and benchtop electronic test equipment. Preferred Qualifications: Avionics development experience with ARINC664, ARINC818, and ARINC429. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation concepts. Familiarity with VHDL (FPGA development) and analog circuit design. Understanding of configuration management principles. Familiarity with DO-160 test requirements and DO-254 process guidance. Education: Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university, in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
