Higher Level Teaching Assistant Secondary School Location: Long Eaton Payscale: £(Apply online only) per day Duration: Long-term to Permanent Start Date: September LTF Recruitment are working with a large secondary school in Long Eaton, who are looking for a competent Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role is on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The position will be full time, working Monday-Friday within class. In this role, your key responsibilities as a HLTA will be based in and around the classroom, supporting the class teacher. This will include making sure correct behaviour is adhered to at all times, working with small groups and 1:1 interventions. A successful candidate will also be required to cover classes in the absence of a class teacher as well as plan and run their own interventions with specific groups of children. A sound knowledge of the curriculum will be needed, as well as a good knowledge of strategies to best support SEN children. The school are looking for a candidate who: Has the relevant degree or HLTA qualification Has 1 years' experience within an education setting Understands various SEN needs Experience working 1:1 Has a sound working knowledge of the National Curriculum/ can learn content as appropriate.
