Our full-fledged studio reaches across online technology, art, environments, UI, and character creation. On July 13, 2023, after more than a decade of successful collaboration, we proudly announced our merger with Cloud Imperium Games.Cloud Imperium Games is renowned for creating cutting-edge video games that push the boundaries of what is possible. Our flagship projects include Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space simulation, and Squadron 42, an epic single-player adventure set in the same expansive universe.What will you do?Work closely with our Game Design and Game Art teams to create an innovative experience for players.Develop beautiful, scientific UI concepts that work with game and environment screens.Be the point person for creating UI visuals that support Star Citizen's gameplay and story.Be comfortable implementing content in the game engine, using our in-house development tools.Help mentor junior UI artists and other team members and assist them in their professional development.Collaborate with your UI, UX team to evaluate the project scope plan (timelines, risks, etc.);Discuss with game designers and art director to define visual guideline points, discuss progress, brainstorm ideas, reinforce artistic and user vision, overcome constraints, provide feedback and coaching, etc..;Supervise your team in the development of their UI/UX deliverables (customer journey maps, high-fidelity prototypes, etc.);Collaborate with interdependent teams (audio, art, animation, storytelling, monetization, etc.) to ensure constant communication and uniform consistency;Oversee the team’s work by making sure that progress is made, standards are respected, deadlines are met, and quality is up to standardsAllocate tasks to team members based on availability and abilitiesRaise issues that have a direct impact on production and propose solutions or alternativesMentor, supervise and manage a team of talented UI Artists, and UX Designer; working closely with them to deliver UI to a high level of detail and visual qualityIn collaboration with the producer and the project managers, identify project needs in order to establish a visual style and a work process that fit within the production scheduleEstablish and maintain an efficient work process within the teamMake sure that all team members have the information and the material they need to work efficientlyMotivate, coach, and support the UI design team, especially in anything related to training, professionalWork closely with the UI Director to ensure that their creative vision is translated into the game.What do we expect from our UI&UX Lead?At least 7 years+ experience as a UI a graphic designer or other relevant experience (a background as a senior designer, analyst or ergonomist is an asset)In-depth knowledge of user-centered principles and techniques;Experience with Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, AfterEffect) and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD);Creative, collaborative, empathetic and innovative spirit;Being recognized as a mastery of industry standard graphic design skills and tools knowledgeExcellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and mentoring skills;Efficient presentation skills (you are able to effectively present and explain strategies and design choices to a diverse audience, including senior management);Curiosity, open-mindedness and flexibility;A passion for solving complex problems with design solutions;Knowledge of project management software (e.g. Jira), agile and lean methods + an understanding of game design principles.Turbulent is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
