Reporting to the Manager, Water Projects, the Project Manager is responsible for leading water quality and environmental projects through all project phases from pre-scoping through to execution and handover to operations.Project Management opportunities within the Water Projects team include:Water Quality; projects supporting implementation of the Elk Valley Water Quality Plan, including implementation of proven technologies and piloting of new technologies to improve water quality and quantityWater Quality Operations; continuous improvement projects at our Active Water Treatment and Saturated Rock Fill (SRF) infrastructureCalcite Management; calcite prevention and stream remediation projectsFish & Fish Habitat; aquatic ecosystem restoration, rehabilitation, and enhancement projects, supporting habitat offsetting and watershed stewardshipResponsibilities:Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresDevelop and manage scopes of work for environmental management, EPCM and mine water management strategies; managing consultants through design and execution of projectsLead project teams to engage partners across sites, corporate functional areas, and operations to execute project work which may include activities including earthworks, instream works, or drilling programs to achieve key project success factors of safety, cost, schedule, and qualitySupport efficient decision processes through information gathering, trade-off studies, risk evaluations, and providing recommendations that align with project objectives and prioritiesParticipate in value-engineering, constructability, and operability reviewsSupport environmental baseline monitoring plan development and execution, data management and permit/authorization compliance, and environmental benefits and effects assessmentsEngage with regulatory stakeholders in accordance with provincial and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes, including the provincial Mines Act, Environmental Management Act, Water Sustainability Act and the federal Fisheries ActQualifications:Degree in Engineering or Science, in a related field (such as Mining, Forestry, Biology, Agriculture, Environmental Science)Minimum 5 years of professional work experience on projects including engineering design, environmental assessments, permitting, field support or constructionExcellent project management skills including development and management of scope, schedule, and budget for multiple projectsProfessional accreditation, such as PPM, PBio, PAg, or registered, or eligible for registration, as a P.Eng with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British ColumbiaWork Rotation (TO BE CONFIRMED):Work rotation of 8/6 for the ramp-up and closing period (first month & last)Followed by a 12/9 rotation for the in-between monthsBenefits:A competitive pay package, offering the opportunity to work for a globally leading civil engineering and mining firm.Application Process: The interview process is ongoing, and the selected candidate is expected to start throughout the spring and summer seasons.
