Job Requirements / Description
My public sector client is looking to recruit a Head of Strategic Procurement into the team on a permanent basis. Reporting into an Executive Director, and with responsibility for a small team, the role of Head of Procurement will be to lead a first-class procurement service across the organisation and to drive value for money in terms of quality, price and environmental impact through the supply chain to support Strategic Business Plan objectives and targets. Your role will also involve ensuring that the procurement strategy contributes to the wider corporate and community strategy objectives aligning with the Environmental, Social and Governance commitments and aspirations, for example, equality and diversity, environmental strategy, social value creation and risk management as well as developing a collaborative approach to procurement across all spending categories and departments and manage these relationships to ensure a cohesive and strategic focus through the best use of available resources. This is a fantastic opportunity and to be considered for it you will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience in leading teams as well as extensive knowledge of public sector procurement, contract law and UK procurement regulations.
