Executive Director

The mission of The Oxygen Project: Yoga for Youth, 501c3 nonprofit organization based in St. Louis, Missouri, is to empower youth to face everyday stress and significant life challenges with resilience and calm through yoga and mindfulness techniques. The Oxygen Project partners with area schools and youth agencies to provide ongoing, on-site yoga and mindfulness programming for school-age children and staff.

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and compassionate leader to serve as Executive Director who guides all aspects of the organization including operations, programming, development, budget and financial management, board support, community relations, human resources and staff training. The ideal candidate is passionate about mindfulness and yoga practices as tools for social emotional learning and wellness.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hire, onboard, and manage a team of contracted youth yoga instructors.
  • Oversee daily operations, including supervision of staff and volunteers, payroll, program implementation, and data collection and evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit laws and regulations.
  • Secure and manage grant funding to support operations and growth.
  • Guide fundraising efforts to support sustainability and growth.
  • Manage budget and allocate resources effectively toward organizational goals.
  • Guide long term strategic planning efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools and youth agencies to sustain and expand program reach.
  • Serve as liaison between the organization and the board of directors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Other duties recommended by the board of directors.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Education and experience in nonprofit management, education, youth development, social work, or related field.
  • Knowledge of and experience with mindfulness and yoga practices.
  • Experience with grant writing, fundraising, staff and financial management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting health and wellness among youth.

Position is .5 FTE

Work is primarily during regular business hours, with occasional evening and weekend work required. Mostly remote work with some travel within a 25-mile radius of St. Louis City required.

Salary range: $30,000-$40,000

Anticipated start date: July 1, 2024
