ReserveX is a travel technology startup and our mission is to revolutionize travel experiences through pioneering technology. Our proprietary platform seamlessly connects traditional and online travel agencies with the ability to book multi-day tours, day activities and cruises. Presently, we're in search of a senior-level, full-stack developer to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the online travel industry, ecommerce, or scaling high-volume, transaction-based marketplaces. This exciting opportunity is based in Calgary, Canada.

The Lead Engineer Role

As Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative solutions for our retail distribution partners. You will also be working on projects that are at the forefront of travel industry tech. This is a hands-on role, where you will be actively coding, while overseeing scrums, prioritizing development, scalability and software QA processes. Expert level experience as a full-stick developer in using .NET, C#, CSS, React, SQL & AWS EC2 are required.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development: You will be responsible for contributing code and overseeing the other developers on team to maintain peer review & quality standards

API Integration: Integrate front-end interfaces with back-end services and APIs to retrieve and display dynamic data, ensuring smooth interaction and real-time update

Code Optimization: Optimize code for performance and scalability, utilizing best practices and tools for code quality, optimization, and debuggin

Version Control: Use version control systems such as Git to manage code repositories and collaborate with other developers in a team environmen

Testing and Debugging: Conduct unit testing and debugging of front-end components to ensure high quality and reliability of software product

Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of front-end applications

Documentation: Document front-end development processes, code architecture, and technical specifications for reference and future maintenance

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including back-end developers, UI/UX designers, product managers, and QA testers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and user needs

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred

5 years of experience in front-end development, with a strong focus on building responsive and interactive web applications

Core full-stack programming experience in C# & .NET

Experience with front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel), package managers (e.g., npm, Yarn), and version control systems (e.g., Git)

Solid understanding of web standards, accessibility, and best practices for front-end development

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in an Agile development environment is a plus

Passion for travel and technology is a plus!
