Sterling Recruitment Services are currently looking to recruit an experienced Machine Setter/Operator for our client based in Sedgefield. Hours of work alternating 7am – 19.00pm and 19.00pm – 7am on a 3 on 3 off 12 hour shift pattern. Main Purpose: The machine operator is responsible for the production and packaging of manufactured products from a cell of high-speed thermoforming machines, as well as ensuring the quality, efficiency and production targets are achieved. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Working in accordance with the company’s BRC Certification, Health & Safety policy and good manufacturing practice. Performing product changeovers, setups and run established tooling to the manufacturing specification, particularly within the production time targets. Diagnose and correct running faults in a timely manner. Effectively communicate progress and any issues that arise with the team leader. Perform production duties such as raw material changes, packing, taping, manual lifting and labelling. Ensure products are packed correctly in accordance to the packing specification for each order and labelled correctly. Carry out and document quality inspections per SOP, accurately and on time. Report any defects or out of spec product, to the team leader. Ensure accurate input of all relevant information into the company computer system and all paperwork is completed accurately and signed. Ensure removal of all good products from within the skeletal waste before re-starting machine during size changes. Carry out all machine clean downs as instructed on the SOP. Ensure all waste or defect product is segregated and placed in relevant containers, to enable appropriate removal. The correct PPE must be worn where stated and safe working practices adhered to. Responsible for housekeeping of the general area around the machine including sweeping the work area and picking up loose items. Always maintain a clean, organized and safe environment. Liaise with the other team members regarding holidays/absence, in order to ensure that all team members share the cover required. Previous experience within a similar role is essential.
