Job Description Our client in transportation and logistics is growing and looking to add to their team! This is a hybrid position based out of their office in Mississauga for an award-winning company that is passionate about their company culture. As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in the financial management and reporting processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and implementing financial controls. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled financial professional to make a significant impact on an organization's success. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis to provide senior management with a clear picture of the company's financial health. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company's annual budget, providing insight and guidance on financial planning and performance forecasting. Financial Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, including payables, receivables, and working capital to ensure the company's liquidity and financial stability. Cost Analysis: Analyze costs and expenses to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements. Tax Compliance: Oversee and ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements. Work with external tax advisors as needed. Financial Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's business goals. Audit Preparation: Coordinate and manage annual financial audits, working closely with external auditors to provide required documentation and resolve any audit findings. Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of financial professionals, including accounting staff and financial analysts. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred. 5+ years’ proven experience in the transportation and logistics industry. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
