About the Role: We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to students in a vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets. You will play a key role in ensuring that children with diverse learning needs receive the personalized support they require for a fulfilling educational experience. Key Responsibilities: As a SEN Teaching Assistant in this outstanding Tower Hamlets school, you will: Provide focused morning support for students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including those diagnosed with ADHD and potential self-harming behaviors. Offer vital afternoon assistance, with the flexibility to work across Key Stages 1 and 2 as needed. Leverage your expertise to foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment. Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individualized support plans and interventions. Potential to Secure Permanent Contract What We’re Looking For: Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices. Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently. Willingness to assist with nappy changing when necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Relevant qualifications and/or training in education, SEN, or child development are highly desirable. Please note that a solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection is crucial for this role. Successful candidates must pass all required safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check on the update service.
