Our Richmond Hill based industrial manufacturing client is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Millwright to join their growing team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery and equipment within the facility. This role ensures that all machinery operates at optimal performance levels, minimizing downtime and maintaining production efficiency. Key responsibilities include performing regular inspections, executing preventive maintenance schedules, diagnosing mechanical issues, and adhering to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess advanced mechanical skills, extensive experience with industrial equipment, and a strong commitment to operational excellence.

The Role:
  • Work daily with CMMS software to create, modify, and close work orders.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities andmalfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and mechanical logic controls.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul,
maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Red Seal Millwright is required
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Fork Lift licensed, or willing to be trained
  • Overhead Crane Operator licensed, or willing to be trained
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good co-ordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload and work effectively with interruptions and changing priorities
  • Must be able to fill out paperwork and forms neatly and accurately
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specification
  • Ability to follow appropriate departmental work instructions, including health and safety rules and procedures
  • Ability to retain information and communicate effectively in English both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task and highly organized
  • Strong ability of using a variety of hand tools
  • Capable of working in heights, and confined spaces
