Agenda are recruiting for a Senior Scientist to join their client who are a leader in agricultural innovation and known for their breakthrough technology to work in the Analytical Methods and Metabolism team. You will be working within a highly collaborative team of technical experts you will apply your background in LC-MS to provide structural identification and insights to R&D project teams in support of the registration of sustainable crop protection products. Basic Requirements: * Degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related discipline is essential. * Practical experience in HPLC method development and operation of LC-MS instruments for small molecule analysis. * Excellent attention to detail and the ability to apply analytical thinking to problem solving scientific experiments. * A knowledge of high-resolution accurate mass instrumentation and/or data interpretation would be beneficial. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team to achieve project goals. * Experience of generating key insights from data sets. * Strong organisational and time management skills. * Active scientific participation and collaboration with colleagues in industry, contract research or regulatory agencies would be advantageous. * Knowledge of compound metabolism in the environment, plants or mammals would be beneficial. * Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. * Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills. Duties and Responsibilities: * Independently perform LC-MS analysis supporting the practical aspects of data generation to determine metabolite identification in samples across a wide range of complex matrices. * Using automated software workflows to process LC-MS data and contribute to updating our global analytical database. * Provide expert reviews of externally produced data sets and contribute to technical responses to CROs. * Ensure the smooth operation of our world-leading instrumentation suite, working with the team to provide routine maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instruments, including Thermo Orbitraps and an Agilent Q-TOF. * Work collaboratively across experimental teams to provide technical assistance and facilitate transfer of technical knowledge internally and to external suppliers, where appropriate.
