Buyer Starting salary up to £46k per annum, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, company pension, employee benefits package Buyer - hybrid working The Company * My client is a successful manufacturer, with purpose-built manufacturing sites at 2 locations in the UK. They wish to appoint an experienced Buyer to provide the reliable and competitive provision of materials, equipment and services. The Role * As my client’s Buyer, you will source the competitive and reliable supply of materials, equipment and services across the procurement portfolio. * You will be sourcing products and services across plants in several countries and with an international sourcing perimeter. * Build and manage relationships with suppliers, contributing to supplier performance evaluation and quality follow-ups. * Provide guidance to stakeholders to attain full implementation of processes and optimum benefit of contracts. * Implement sourcing strategies and contracting, with a short to long term approach, to meet business KPI’s. * Working closely with internal stakeholders (Supply chain, Operations, R&D and Sales), you will also be a key contributor to major projects for the business division. * Identify, promote, support and implement improvements and cost savings. * Understand the needs and of internal stakeholders, assessing and challenging where appropriate. The Candidate * 5 - 10 years’ experience as a Buyer or in a relevant Procurement or Purchasing role. * Excellent negotiation skills, strong communication skills and commercially astute. * Knowledgeable in product/materials, equipment and service purchasing. * Skilled in creating and implementing procurement strategy. * Capable of understanding and defining requirements. * Able to define and implement new systems and processes. * Good understanding of contracting, competition laws and regulations. * Previous project experience.
