Engineer Cornwall Job Role: Engineer (Aerospace experience not essential) Employment Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive (£30k-£40k) Location: Cornwall The Role Are you an Engineer looking for experience and a new challenge? A prestigious company in the aviation industry is seeking skilled individuals to join their team and be part of exciting projects. They specialise primarily in the repair and maintenance of commercial aviation components, ensuring the safety and reliability of aircraft operations. Their core expertise lies in providing meticulous care and attention to detail in servicing essential components, contributing to the seamless functioning of the aviation industry. In addition to their primary focus on commercial aviation, they are passionately engaged in the restoration and rebuilding of a 'Presentation Spitfire' alongside other unique and historically significant aircraft. Responsibilities: Work with aluminium and other materials using a wide range of equipment and machinery. Specialised component replacement. Contract repairs and refurbishment. Panel reworks. Bespoke tool manufacture. About You Have an engineering background, machine operating skills or ex tool shop experience. Welding - MIG & TIG experience (preferred) Ability to read and produce simple engineering drawings. Basic sheet metal work - aluminium (preferred) Excellent communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities. Able to work independently, using own initiative, as well as part of a team.
