Our Canadian, family owned and operated client in the medical software industry is seeking a Controller. Our client is located in Burlington and operate on a hybrid work model. This is a newly created role that will report into the President and take over the day-to-day accounting operations.

Please note: this position requires you to be in Ontario and in the local area, as this is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle day-to-day accounting operations and all transactions related to; GL’s, AP/AR, financial reporting and project accounting
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, prepare monthly/quarterly variance reports
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide leaders with data and analysis for strategic financial planning
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial resources and support business growth
  • Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure financial accuracy
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of all financial accounts; bank statements, credit cards, and company transactions
  • Closely monitor vendor agreements and costs, and develop a process for assessing net margins
  • Review and monitor client agreements for approval and term renewal
  • Identify improvement opportunities, making recommendations and implementing process changes
  • Manage operating expenses; leases, insurance, phones, utilities, employee expenses, etc.
  • Assists in the preparation for the annual year-end completion
  • Liaise with government agencies, bankers, lawyers, accountants, insurance companies, suppliers etc.
Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • CPA a must
  • 3+ years experience at a manager level
  • 5+ years accounting experience
  • Hands on and a strategic thinker
