With international students from over 50 different countries, ASM is committed to teaching excellence and quality programs that prepare students to work in selected sectors of the global labour market and providing an international perspective on learning and individualized attention to supporting student success.Primary Purpose: Reporting to the Director, Student Services, the Student Housing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating off-campus housing options for students, with a focus on providing comprehensive housing support, education, and resources to international students in Vancouver. This role involves close collaboration with Student Services and external housing partners to ensure a seamless transition for international students into their new accommodations, promoting a supportive and inclusive living environment.Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Assist international students in finding suitable housing options near the campus.Identify potential opportunities for new off-campus housing resources based on evolving student needs and Acsenda’s strategic path.Provide information on local rental markets, lease agreements, and housing regulations through workshops.Create informational materials and resources about local neighborhoods, transportation, and essential services.Organize and participate in housing orientation sessions for international students.Provide resources and guidance on tenant rights and responsibilities.Maintain an up-to-date database of housing listings, roommate opportunities, and other relevant resources.Continuously research and compile information on local housing trends and available accommodations.Collaborate with the Student Services team on projects and initiatives.Planning and coordination of emergency support needs for studentsOther duties as may be required. Other areas as identified in ASM’s OGSMPOSITION KPI’SStudent satisfaction rateHousing placement efficiencyNumber of housing options providedHousing workshops and student engagement eventsDatabase accuracy and update frequencyStudent housing trend analysisKey Relationships: Internal within the company:Student Services StaffDirector, Student ServicesExternal to the company:Housing PartnersReporting Lines: Position this role reports to:Director, Student ServicesPositions reporting Directly to this role include:NoneQualifications, Experience & Technical Skills: Knowledge and Qualification: A bachelor level degree in a relevant field (e.g.: Housing Management, Business Admin, Student Services) and/or combination of experience.Strong organizational and interpersonal skillsSkills and ExperienceProven experience and demonstrated passion for housing management support or a related field.Experience in student life programming, and/or providing services or administration in a post-secondary environment.Knowledge of local housing laws and regulations is an asset.Excellent organization and time management skills; consistently meets deadlines and performance targets.Excellent written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.Proven ability to maintain accurate records and produce accurate reports, attention to detail.strong level of proficiency with MS Office and Excel; and social mediaAn empathy with and ability to communicate effectively with international students from diverse cultural backgrounds.Previous experience demonstrates cooperation and collaboration with others, sound judgement.Initiative in solving problems and recommending improvements to work processes.Please Note: ASM reserves the right to amend this Position Description from time to time based on the organisation’s needs and the emerging required skills, abilities and qualifications required to perform this role.
