Overhead of $5,800/month. Job Description The successful incumbent will provide family medicine physician services in a collaborative Primary Health Care setting within a multi-disciplinary team to residents of the community and area. Work will include clinic, ER call, inpatient care, LTC rounds, and hospital procedures as permitted. They will work collaboratively with other medical professionals in surrounding communities to support the acute care and emergency services for the area. This practice offers a full range of services, which would include admitting privileges and access to primary health care resources such as home care, mental health and addictions, chronic disease management, public health, etc. Acute care referral services are available in the city of Regina which is approximately 80 minutes away. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is dedicated to learning, and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. The successful applicant is encouraged to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Family Medicine in the Southeast Area. The Community: Saskatchewan is located in western Canada between the provinces of Alberta and Manitoba, and just to the north of the U.S., states of North Dakota and Montana. Its latest growth figures place it first among western provinces and second amongst all Canadian provinces and territories. Its current population sits around 1.13 million (Oct. 1, 2014). Kipling is a town of approximately 1,100 people which also services a broader farming area and expanding oil field. Moose Mountain Provincial Park is nearby and accessible by a 30 minute drive from Kipling. Moose Mountain operates year round and offers golfing, camping, swimming, and trails suitable for hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Kipling is situated approximately 150 km from Regina, the provincial capital of Saskatchewan. Regina boasts an urban forest of more than 350,000 hand-planted trees, an extensive park system, major attractions, shopping, and a rich, colourful heritage. Its population currently hovers around 230,000 people. Elementary and High School education available at the Kipling School. Kipling Integrated Health Centre offers a range of acute care services, including emergency services, palliative care, respite care, rehabilitation services, mental health services and telehealth. The facility also provides 32 long-term care beds and 12 acute care beds. Kipling Primary Health Clinic provides primary health care to the town and surrounding communities. Relocation Package The successful candidate may be eligible for: The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $3,500 - $7,000. Job Qualifications Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Recommended - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Valid driver’s license Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage Legal entitlement to work in Canada The successful candidate should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.
