ENERCON Canada is seeking a highly experienced Training Department Director to lead our team in Boucherville, Quebec. This person will oversee the management and development of our extensive training programs, ensuring alignment with ENERCON’s global standards and Canadian regulations. The role involves managing a team of trainers, developing training content, fostering relationships with post-secondary institutes and external training providers, setting KPIs, and ensuring compliance with certification standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training, management experience, and expertise in Canadian safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a team of 5-6 trainers and 1 administrative assistant. Oversee daily operations of the Training Center, ensuring smooth execution of all training programs. Ensure alignment with Global Technology Training department standards. Maintain and update training content to meet Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial regulations. Develop strategic plans for the launch of new training content and initiatives. Manage the Training Center’s budget and ensure cost-effective operations. Set and monitor KPIs for the Training Center to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with training goals. Prepare regular reports on training outcomes, compliance, and KPIs for senior management. Training & Development: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on training and training center operations. Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions as needed. Collaborate with trainers specializing in various areas including health and safety, rescue, electrical, mechanical, rotor blade, concrete, and construction. Foster relationships with post-secondary institutes and external training providers. Ensure that all training documentation and certifications are up-to-date and compliant. Map out the Training Matrix and ensure all training content is current and effective. Training Management: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of training programs, including but not limited to: Health and Safety Training Technical Training: Electrical and Mechanical Medium/High Voltage Switching Authorization Training Concrete Repair and Rotor blade Training Service Hoist and Rotor blade platform Operation Training WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Training Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), PPE Inspection, and Fire Extinguisher Training Forklift and Telehandler Training Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with Canada-wide safety standards and legislation across all provinces and territories. Stay updated on changes in occupational health and safety laws and adapt training programs accordingly. Required Qualifications: University degree in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety, education, or engineering. 5+ years of management experience, preferably in a training or educational environment. Extensive knowledge of Canadian safety standards and regulations (provincial and federal). Experience with Global Wind Organization (GWO) standards and training. Proven experience in the management and implementation of essential OSH programs (e.g., electrical safety, lockout-tagout, working at heights, ergonomics, confined spaces, WHMIS). Experience in high-risk assessments. Background in the wind industry or related sectors (e.g., construction, industrial, power plants, petroleum, or other). Bilingual in French and English; proficiency in German is an asset. Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and team development. Proficient in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Valid driver’s license and passport, with the availability to travel within Canada and Europe (15-25%). ENERCON offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
