Job Description:

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to work closely with stakeholders, project managers, and the software development team to analyze, document, and validate requirements, ensuring that delivered solutions meet organizational goals and user needs.

Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

o Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document school’s faculty and administration requirements.

o Analyze and prioritize requirements, ensuring alignment with school’s objectives.

o Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to identify technical solutions.

• Documentation and Communication:

o Create detailed functional specifications, user stories, and process flow diagrams.

o Develop use cases, test cases, and user acceptance criteria.

o Communicate requirements and specifications clearly to the development team.

• Project Management Support:

o Work closely with project managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

o Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and milestones.

o Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

o Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders to elicit and validate requirements.

o Build and maintain strong relationships with users, developers, and other key stakeholders.

o Act as a liaison between the faculty, administration, and technical teams to ensure seamless communication.

• Process Improvement:

o Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.

o Recommend best practices and innovative solutions to enhance processes.

o Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of business analysis methodologies.

• Quality Assurance:

o Assist in the development and execution of test plans to ensure software solutions meet requirements.

o Conduct user acceptance testing and coordinate with stakeholders to obtain sign-off.

o Ensure that deliverables are of high quality and meet expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on software development projects.

• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.

• Experience with data modeling, process mapping, user stories, and requirements management.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent).

• Experience with enterprise-level software solutions and large-scale projects.

Hourly rate: $70-$80 per hour.
