Intense preparations for the new planned company by Volvo Group and Renault Group   Hi, we are Volvo Group - Flexis project At the Volvo group, we are aiming at creating a new company in the green logistics sector, on a mission to create more sustainable societies and change the way we move through cities. We want to become the primary provider of electrified last mile delivery services through connected solutions and vehicles for our B2B partners and customers. To make this project come true, the future JV Flexis will received initial funding and support from two major actors of the commercial vehicle sector. We are a team of diverse peers looking to create a future company which will grow to 100+ collaborators over the next six months. We aim to make this project raising significant investments and reach rapidly a significant size with sales in excess of 2Bn. We are thinking big and fast. We will operate at the junction between electric vehicles and the digital world. Being part of the Volvo project team will offer you a strong opportunity to work on a JV creation and bring your passion, experience, start up mindset to move forward with a more sustainable environment.   The role The role you could fill: Lead and coordinate purchasing activities in projects. Plan, drive and follow up the Purchasing part of the development and secure the Purchasing deliverables on time with agreed quality, cost, features and technology, sustainability and risk. Have the responsibility to judge progress and maturity of deliverables. Be the interface to the Purchasing line organization and work closely together to secure purchasing strategies and objectives when building the technology and development roadmaps.   Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Main activites: Represent “Flexis” Purchasing and actively contribute to the Project Management Team Manage sourcing requirements and contribute to sourcing framing and commodity strategy with Advanced project team and Commodity Supplier Account Manager (SAM) / Upstream Strategic Function Team (USFT) leader Frame volumes and budgets with stakeholders (Engineering, Product Planning, Costing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, …) Communicate to Alliance Purchasing Organization (APO) the list of references to source, budget and milestones Obtain validation of sourcing plans Monitor Alliance Purchasing Organization (APO) Commodities execute sourcing activities on time (Sourcing Plan, Pre-Review Meeting, Sourcing Committees, …). Monitor Alliance Purchasing Organization (APO) to achieve expected Quality / Cost / delivery Performance (QCDP) all along the project - from sourcing framing till start of production, including aftermarket requirements Coordinate development (Part Price / Vendor Tooling / Supplier Entry Ticket) performance through development phase to meet milestones and reach best price at the Start of Production Monitor, follow-up and request action pan to achieve the target cost compliance.   Sourcing activity Confirm entry data for sourcing plan with other departments: volume, budget, logistics guidelines, Bill of Material, … Build Sourcing Plan in link with Upstream Strategic Function Team USFT leaders and Supplier Account Managers (SAMs) Drive Pre-Review Meetings. Plan and organize Sourcing Committee consistently with Alliance Purchasing Organization (APO) Delegation of Authorities (DOA) Development activity Manage Part price at Start of Production during development activities and support buyers in Design Change Request negotiation with suppliers Ensure Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) budget availability/visibility follow-up and validate orders (Vendor Tooling (V/T); Supplier Entry Ticket (SET) when paid cash) Follow rolling cost and Quality / Cost / Delivery Performance (QCDP) Manage Quality commitments for Purchasing and project milestones. Development activity Manage Part price at Start of Production during development activities and support buyers in Design Change Request negotiation with suppliers Ensure Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) budget availability/visibility follow-up and validate orders (Vendor Tooling (V/T); Supplier Entry Ticket (SET) when paid cash) Follow rolling cost and Quality / Cost / Delivery Performance (QCDP) Manage Quality commitments for Purchasing and project milestones. Main interfaces Engineering, Quality, Program, Costing, Industrial, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance and any other internal customer for Non-Automotive Who you are What you bring: Skills: Strong ability to work cross functionally in project mode Strong ability to build, coordinate and drive teams Good communication skills Act as a real team player, promoting collaboration and support Business acumen Negotiations skills including ability to manage supplier relationships in complex environments Proactive Result driven Stress resistant Fluent in English Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field Understanding of Purchasing challenges through experience from working in purchasing and/or development projects within automotive Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing in operational positions and/or purchasing project management.   Travel Frequency: Regularly (25% to 50% of time)   You’re a driven and results-oriented individual with a passion for the customer satisfaction and service quality? Start date plan: September 2024 In October last year, Volvo Group and Renault Group announced the plans to join forces to address the growing needs of decarbonized and efficient urban logistics. The two groups intend to form a new company that will offer an all-new generation of electric vans and would start operating in early 2024.  The joint venture is scheduled to start operations in early 2024, depending on the completion of all regulatory approval processes. The future company is planned to operate under its own corporate identity and will be based in France. The production is planned to start in 2026.  There have been some consultant positions connected to the project itself, but more opportunities will be available when the company begins its operations.
