Senior Design Engineer

Job Title: Senior Engineer (Design) - Civil & Structural Engineering Location: Harrow Salary: Competitive, based on experience Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer (Design) to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on technical role requiring expertise in civil and structural engineering, particularly within the rail industry. The ideal candidate will be working towards Chartership and will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects including station upgrades, platforms, retaining structures, foundations, and footbridges. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and delivery of complex rail projects from tender stage through to detailed design. Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes. Provide technical expertise on civil and structural designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Engage and manage key client stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and project progress. Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring that work is completed to the highest quality. Ensure designs are aligned with Network Rail and London Underground standards, where applicable. Key Requirements: Extensive experience in the rail industry is essential. Exposure to Network Rail and London Underground projects is highly desirable. Experience leading projects from conception through to detailed design, with a strong understanding of rail infrastructure. Proven ability to manage client relationships and stakeholder expectations effectively. Working towards Chartership (CEng) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. ICE, IStructE). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical designs clearly.
