Job Requirements / Description
Join the Search and BuyBox algorithm team at Walmart, where we are pioneering solutions to some of the most challenging problems in e-commerce. Every time a user types in a query, engages with an item on our website or mobile apps, or browses through product categories, our advanced algorithms spring into action. We are the driving force behind both the Search and BuyBox systems. Our Search system mines billions of search queries and hundreds of millions of products to find the most relevant products for our customers, while our BuyBox system is the offer ranking engine that optimizes user experience by presenting the best possible offers from various sellers. Our aim is not only to assist customers in their buying decisions but also to foster a competitive and fair marketplace for our sellers. By leveraging data from hundreds of millions of user-product interactions, we surface the most competitive offers that deliver optimum value to our customers and find the most relevant products for them. As a part of our team, you will solve intriguing problems in the domains of machine learning, information retrieval and ranking, natural language processing, and computer vision. The algorithms you develop will champion customer needs, surface reliable offers, align with customer intents across multiple platforms and modalities (voice, text, image, etc.), and understand their preferences, implicitly or explicitly. Your work will have a direct impact on millions of customers and contribute significantly to the strategic goals of the world's leading enterprise.
