Mechanical Design Engineer - New Product Development West Sussex We are delighted to represent a prestigious, multinational manufacturing and engineering organisation in their appointment of a Mechanical Design Engineer Working as part of the international New Product Development Team, the mechanical design engineer will take responsibility for the mechanical element of product developments across the division, involved in full project life cycle from conception through design, working closely with production to ensure a smooth transition to product launch. Collaborating with firmware and electronic engineers to develop new filtration and instrumentation products for a vast customer base across marine, oil and gas and clean energy markets. Key skills * Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering * Competent in a mechanical design role focused on new product development, and comfortable working within a highly skilled and dynamic multidisciplined international design team * Experienced in designing injection moulded and cast parts * Experienced designing to legislative requirements such as CE, ATEX. * 3D CAD – Inventor preferred * Simulation experience desirable and ideally within an ANSYS environment * Knowledge of APQP, DFMEA and other design project management tools preferred * Ability to interface directly with the customer base and internally with multi-functional project teams – some based remotely – adapting their style of communication to the level of technical knowledge in the relevant audience Ultimately, we seek an innovative and self starting Mechanical Design professional who employs insight, imagination and intuition, who is proactive around knowledge sharing to ensure the best possible result for the team and the customer, an enthusiastic, diligent and positive character with an enduring thirst for knowledge and a genuine interest in new technologies Join a buoyant and stable manufacturing organisation offering structured opportunities for further career development in a dynamic and highly professional setting.
