Executive Summary
If you like the idea of empowering young people in Manitoba to succeed, then volunteering with Career Trek's Board of Directors is the place for you! Every year, Career Trek supports hundreds of children and youth in Winnipeg, Brandon and Thompson get a head start on their journey to career. Using an experiential delivery model, participants gain a greater understanding of jobs across a number of sectors, learn new skills, meet new people and come away with a new awareness that gives them the confidence to make informed decisions about their future.


Career Trek is currently seeking a Lawyer to join its Board of Directors. We are looking for someone who will help oversee compliance and governance at the Board level and will work to ensure the organization has systems in place to mitigate risk.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure the organization adheres to all legal matters, maintains ethical standards, and navigate potential legal challenges successfully. Knowledge or expertise in labour law and policy development is an asset.


In general, all Board members will use their knowledge and work experience to provide direction in areas such as strategic planning, fundraising, policy development, financial management, and business development.


Career Trek's Board of Directors is a Governance Board and is responsible for ensuring that Career Trek meets all of its obligations and is run effectively and efficiently. The Board meets six times per year holding its AGM in November.
