Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Principal Product Manager is responsible for leading a team of product managers to design, build and launch a portfolio of digital financial products. The position is also responsible for building and implementing strategies to the grow the portfolio of products through acquisition and retention tactics, including measuring the effectiveness of these strategies.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Product Development

  • Help define the product vision and strategy, and translate that vision into an ambitious product roadmap for direct-to-client deposits, lending and payment products- from ideation to execution with design, data, and engineering.
  • Work closely with engineering, marketing, UX/UI research, and product design teams to build the best financial Services products in the market
  • Develop a deep understanding of our financial product stack (both direct to client as well as broker-led) from a user, technical, operations, business and design perspective; use that understanding to bring high-impact opportunities to the product roadmap
  • Lead and manage prioritization of product investment with quantitative and quantitative inputs from various stakeholders across the bank to identify and execute against the highest value opportunities that align with bank’s strategic priorities, are client centric and based on data-driven insights. Continuously revisit prioritization as new information emerges and market and client needs evolve.
  • Identify and engage third party technology partners to coordinate plans and roadmaps that will support continued product innovation
  • Be a collaborative powerhouse across Haventree bank, ensuring stakeholders are brought in and aligned on vision and feel joint ownership over strategy and results.
  • Clearly communicate technical and non-technical product specifications for products and features to enable efficiency across a wide breadth of stakeholders.
  • Deepen the team’s understanding of product-led culture and how various partners contribute to product platform and maintain a consistently great user experience
  • Develop a framework for partnership, set KPIs that help to drive high quality decision-making.
  • Own the execution of your team's projects; excelling at keeping the product backlog up-to-date and prioritized, integrating projects into sprints, release management, gathering feedback and iterating on releases

Product management

  • Strategy and Planning: Create long-term strategy for the business in collaboration with the and other business leaders
  • Develop offers, campaigns and strategic initiatives to increase acquisition and grow balances through propensity models and optimized pricing, increase funded accounts and drive sticky deposit and payment behaviors.
  • Financial Results: Accountable for financial results for the direct to client deposit and lending portfolio, through strategic management, forward looking plans to address emerging trends, competitive developments and business challenges.
  • Stakeholder Management: This job interacts on a regular basis with senior/executive management and various departments Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Finance, Risk Management) and external vendors as required.
  • Build Partnerships: Collaborate with key partners (e.g. Marketing, Analytics, Technology, Operations and Client Service, Finance and Treasury ) to assess current state features, processes, portfolio and campaign performances, and work with the partners to enhance.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Led end-to-end development (0-1 launch) of B2C digital products, preferably in the financial domain as a head/principal product manager
  • Ability to balance a deep technical understanding of product and partner requirements with user empathy
  • Expertise on prioritization techniques based on advanced knowledge of strategic priorities of the bank and data-driven insights
  • Expert level understanding of unit-economics and financial performance of our products
  • Technically inclination or comfort with technical concepts to produce detailed-oriented requirements, contribute on technical discussions on concepts, architecture and APIs that enable your team to ship high quality features

Skills that will help you succeed in this role

  • Have 7+ years of relevant product management experience.
  • Graduate or post graduate degree in business, engineering, marketing or an analytical field including sciences.
  • Have some experience or familiarity with the banking or payments space
  • Have strong “Product sense” (intuitive understanding of user needs, strategic and data-driven mindset, passion for product excellence) understanding and experience with product-led growth principals
  • Be able to take complex problems and distill them into first principles
  • Be able to articulate and apply a methodical framework to solve problems
  • Drive accountability — hold yourself and others accountable in service of great work
