£45k - £55k pa + Group Life assurance + Group Income protection Our client provides project development, owners engineer, operations management and consultancy services to companies wishing to own and trade decentralised grid and behind the meter energy assets. Their customers are energy traders, investors, and commercial/industrial energy users. They are a close-knit team of power generation professionals that are developing and operating projects and technology in the changing UK energy sector. They currently operate 46MW of peaking power plants over 7 sites in the North East, Midlands and East Anglia and continue to grow this portfolio. They are a small, but growing business and are seeking people who can fit into a dynamic and ever-changing workplace including the ability to work from home, from the office, on site and on the road developing new opportunities. Reporting to the Projects Director, our client is looking for an experienced controls engineer to lead the development of their data visualisation platform, improve their CHiPCoB on-site controls product and to help bring their online power generation asset management products to the market. The role will also involve providing controls and electrical support to the existing operational assets and mentoring the younger engineers within their small team. Key areas of responsibilities include configuring and development cloud based SCADA capability, develop and update PLC software for remote deployment, advise and lead on the improvement of IT infrastructure across the business and customer power generation sites, support the business on general electrical, control and communications issues, ensure all currently deployed control systems are working correctly and resolving any problems that arise and visit sites to resolve problems when required To qualify for this role, you will possess a relevant Engineering qualification (Degree level) be a self-motivated and independent worker with strong experience in PLC programming with knowledge of communications protocols, SCADA configuration and set up, excellent IT and networking knowledge, dealing with a number of different projects simultaneously and good HSE attitude. It’s also desirable that you have experience in MQTT, AWS, Siemens S7 PLC’s and programming environments and the ability to analyse and modify software
