The Associate Director of Music and Liturgy (“Associate Director”) is an integral member of the Worship staff at St. Thomas the Apostle with responsibility for preparing liturgy and music that serves the parish community and consistently reaches out to evangelize to all. With the goal of planning, facilitating, and leading joyful and engaging public worship for the parish, the Associate Director collaborates with the pastoral staff, liturgical ministers, and other members of the parish as appropriate. The Associate Director reports to the Director of Music and Liturgy and assists by evaluating parish liturgies and calling forth the gifts and talents of the community. The Associate Director is committed to being a pastoral musician and liturgist, who shares faith, serves the community, and expresses the love of God and neighbor by nurturing personal spiritual and ministerial growth. This position requires flexibility of schedule to adjust to the needs of the church, with a wide variety of events that occur during the week, evenings, and on weekends. (2+ years of experience preferred.)•Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community and is willing to function in a manner consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church.•Keep abreast of developments in sacramental theology, liturgy, the requirements of Canon Law, liturgical practice nationally and diocesan policies and guidelines, and update the parish on these matters.•Knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy, including liturgical documents, music resources, Roman Missal, and Lectionary.•Listens to, communicates with, and regularly invites insights from lay leadership and staff, and interacts with all parishioners with respect, modeling Christian compassion and charity.•Skill as an effective choir conductor and pianist.•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Publisher.•Experience with Ministry Scheduler Pro.•Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills.•Ability to multi-task, especially as it relates to project and event planning and management.•Education/experience in live production and livestreaming; worship and liturgy focus preferred.•Education/experience in mixing and audio processing such as EQ, effects, gates, compression, etc.•Strong computer skills, especially in word processing, desktop publishing, worship media, and database management.•Strong personal code of ethics, including maintaining confidentiality and avoiding conflict of interest is required.•Ministry work is collaborative by nature and typically occurs at church facilities and/or office setting. While there is some flexibility in office availability, presence at weekend liturgies is expected, as well as at funerals, weddings, and special liturgical or catechetical events.•Scheduling is flexible but will involve some evening and weekend work hours including times for rehearsal and other liturgical preparations.•Collaboration and interaction with other members of the parish staff team is expected via attendance at staff meetings and other parish gatherings. #J-18808-Ljbffr
