Engineering Technician

Job Title: Shift Fitter (HGV/PSV Maintenance) Location: Durham Salary: £19.03 per hour Hours: 39 hours per week, shifts between 05:00 and 17:30 (5 over 7, Sunday to Saturday) Job Overview: An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join a leading garage in Durham as a Shift Fitter. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the maintenance and servicing of a fleet of PCV vehicles, ensuring that all vehicles meet and exceed industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Carry out servicing and repairs in line with DVSA standards. Continuously improve vehicle standards, ensuring top reliability. Prepare vehicles for MOTs, ensuring compliance. Diagnose vehicle faults and maintain high standards of vehicle safety and performance. Work shifts that cover 5 days over 7, with start times between 05:00 and 17:30.Requirements: Strong knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 NVQ). Ability to work safely and independently according to pre-set standards and guidelines. Electrical knowledge is a plus, but not essential. A PCV license is desirable but not required. Experience with vehicle inspections for scheduled maintenance is advantageous (training available), and IRTEC accreditation is favourable.Benefits: Competitive pay at £19.03 per hour.
