Job title: Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Wolverhampton Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum Job Summary: The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor will possess a strong background in cost management, contract administration, and financial oversight of construction projects. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards. Responsibilities: * Cost Management: Lead the preparation and management of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports. * Tendering: Oversee the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting suppliers and subcontractors. * Valuations: Conduct interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost control. * Contract Administration: Manage contracts, handle variations, and ensure compliance with contractual terms. * Site Visits: Perform regular site visits to assess progress, measure works, and ensure projects are on track and within budget. * Data Analysis: Analyse data to provide insights on cost performance and identify areas for improvement. * Client Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. * Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors and other team members. Requirements: * Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. * Experience: Experience in a quantity surveying role, with a proven track record in the construction industry. * Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, CATO). * Numeracy: Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. * Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. * Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a creative approach to finding effective solutions.
