Salary: £24,000 per annum

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Contract/Hours: Permanent Full-Time 37 hours a week. (Shift pattern)

A bit About the Role.

By working as part of a team to create an environment in which children's individual needs are met and high standards of care are provided, which meet the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

New Hall Mother and Baby Unit offers holistic support for mothers and their babies who are often vulnerable and may have complex emotional and health needs. We work closely with a range of professionals and as part of a team to offer the best positive outcomes for the mothers on the unit and this is a vital part of our work. We are looking for an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our growing team.

You'll be offering Ofsted registered nursery provision, under a key worker system. You will provide holistic support to the mothers and babies on the unit including the delivery of a variety of parenting programmes, and will provide the prison with monthly reports, keep comprehensive running records and detailed information/reports for professional meetings and as part of social care assessments.

We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to provide a range of stimulating activities for children aged 0-2 years in line with the Early Years Foundation stage. You will work as part of a team.

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will:

  • Provide individually or as part of a team, practical quality care, support interventions and range of activities and experiences to children, young people, and families, as advised and in line with agreed plans.
  • Be alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers about concerns in line with our safeguarding policies and procedures.

What You'll Bring:

  • Relevant level 3 qualification in Early Years or above
  • Previous experience working in a nursery setting aged 0 to 5 years.
  • Paediatric First Aid Qualification & Food Hygiene or ability to achieve.
  • Ability to keep the child as the focus and ensure their feelings and wishes are represented in record keeping.
  • Communicate effectively and engagingly and to maintain independent professional relationships, boundaries.
  • Ability to drive is desirable with a commitment to having business class insurance.
