YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Engineering General Supervisor, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will lead the Underground Engineering team to support and integrate all elements required for safe, reliable, and effective underground operations. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Accountable for leadership and coordination of Mine Technicians, Mine Engineers, and Engineers-In-Training;
  • Set direction and provide ownership for all short-range underground Mine Engineering deliverables including weekly plans, engineering prints, schedules, and strategies;
  • Develop structures to ensure standardization and quality of engineering deliverables;
  • Coordinate and review mine planning or operational optimizations;
  • Promote Health & Safety by hosting weekly/monthly departmental H&S meetings;
  • Collaboration in budgeting, forecasting and cost control processes;
  • Conduct various HR activities including development plans, performance evaluations, and coaching;
  • Identification of continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Responsible for the Engineering Department in the absence of the General Supervisor if required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • 5+ years of experience in mining operations;
  • 1 year of experience as a supervisor or team leader;
  • Canadian Professional Engineer designation and/or eligible for NAPEG license;
  • Experience with underground operations, drill & blast, or mine planning is considered an asset;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
