```html Aga Khan Agency for Habitat Position: Project Engineer The Aga Khan Agency for Habitat Pakistan invites applications for Project Engineer, with expertise in road and especially bridge construction. The position will oversee the entire cycle of roads and bridge projects at designated sites, from planning to completion. The incumbent will also be involved in various tasks, which apart from the construction of bridges and link roads, include drawing reviews, confirmation of cost estimates/BoQs with verified quality standards, and completion of assigned projects within schedule and fixed budget. The position will be based in Gilgit-Baltistan, with frequent traveling within and outside the region, and to Islamabad for official business. Responsibilities: Conduct engineering surveys for the selected roads and other structures including bridges. Provide inputs into the design process, prepare the Bill of Quantities as per the final design drawings and calculate the final quantities. Make necessary changes to the design drawings as per the site conditions. Develop geometric design from the survey results using AutoCAD, Civil CAD, and/or other appropriate software. Coordinate with project manager, contractors, architects, engineers, and other specialists to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of tenders and the preparation and finalization of contracts for construction and rehabilitation works. Supervise contractors on site, ensuring that the works meet the highest quality standards. Monitor construction and rehabilitation works, including environmental mitigation and safety plans per the contractual agreements. Prepare budgets for projects and monitor costs to ensure they are within the limits. Conduct regular inspections of sites during construction to ensure that work is being performed according to the designs and specifications. Review the contractor’s work programmes, resources, schedule, and project implementation plans and ensure compliance. Provide clear written and verbal instructions to the contractor or contractor’s representative(s) on-site, and resolve any project-related problems or issues. Manage personnel at the construction site. Provide technical advice and recommendations to the bridge and road construction team for improving construction practices. Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor/head of the department. Requirements: Master in Structural Engineering preferred with at least 10 years of bridge/structures experience. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and over 15 years of experience in the design and construction of roads and bridges can also apply. At least 5 years of direct experience in delivering bridge projects, preferably suspension bridges with spans of more than 100 meters. Good command over relevant software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETABs, STAAD Pro, etc. Experience in engaging with local government staff, local contractors, and communities to build their capacity in the design, construction, and maintenance of rural roads, bridges, and community infrastructure. Must have a valid registration/license from the Pakistan Engineering Council. Knowledge of financial and procurement management. Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
