Materials Buyer

We are looking for a Materials Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis to join the Procurement team located in the Birmingham area. You will be responsible for the procurement of materials for a Construction company. Working as part of a small you will be buying materials and arranging the hire of plant/tools. Responsibilities: Assisting with the procurement process of Plant/Tools and Materials Sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating with suppliers Maintain accurate records of purchase orders. Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Assist with material take-offs for bulk orders Assist the commercial team with pricing for project tenders. Ensure quality and performance of ordered materials are in line with required standards Chase deliveries from suppliers that are overdue. Assist in the resolution of any issues or invoice disputes with suppliers. Obtain technical data sheets and assist surveyors/project managers with any information required on project-specific products when required. Prepare and compile project O&M manuals with assistance from Project teams Assist with stock returns on surplus materials from site and/or moving to new projects. Updating company systems when necessary (hires and off-hires). Assist with managing vehicle/plant records returned from site, ensuring they are maintained and up to dateWorking hours Monday - Friday (Apply online only) (40 hours per week) Salary Circa £30-35,000 per annum. 20 days holiday + Statutory Bank Holidays Company To be considered for this role Knowledge or previous background of working in the construction industry, plant or materials would be preferable.
