We're seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in providing accurate estimates for projects, from conceptual feasibility evaluations to detailed estimates. Responsibilities:
- Interpret bid/proposal submission requirements, specifications, and drawings with precision.
- Manage and execute tender processes, including administrative tasks, in 'open bid' tender scenarios.
- Analyze tender submissions/quotations for accuracy and completeness, providing recommendations for awards.
- Develop comprehensive estimates for Class "D," "C," "B," and "A" categories, ready for management review.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Designers through RFI processes to ensure clear understanding of project specifications and scope.
- Work with Project Managers to establish project program schedules and provide insights into value engineering.
- Prepare conceptual feasibility estimates based on historical data.
- Establish cost monitoring and reporting procedures for Project Managers.
- Solicit trades and suppliers, maintaining relationships with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct research for estimating and procurement purposes.
- Create and maintain databases, including labor, material, and equipment rates.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and QA/QC Managers for cost maintenance, specification, and scope development.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to establish project budgets upon award.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies.
- Participate in required meetings and provide valuable insights.
- Contribute input on necessary hardware and software for efficient operations.
- Visit job sites as needed to review costs and production progress.
- Handle light physical demands (0-20 lbs) associated with the role.
- Enforce the ANC Health and Safety Program.
- Prioritize safety by identifying and reporting potential hazards.
- Adhere to ANC Modular Inc, Ontario Health and Safety Association, and MSDS safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction estimation.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and bid requirements.
- Analytical skills to evaluate tender submissions and provide accurate recommendations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with cost monitoring and reporting procedures.
- Detail-oriented approach to database management.
- Familiarity with hardware and software tools for estimation.
