District Manager

We operate in 38 countries, conduct business through a network of 2,300 branches, and rely on the support of 30,000 employees internationally to provide electrical solutions and equipment within the industrial, residential, and commercial sectors.  Throughout the world, Rexel is accelerating electrical advances in close collaboration with its customers and partners.Within Canada, our operating banners of Nedco, Westburne & Rexel Atlantic allow us to serve our customers through a network of 200 + branches across the country ensuring that local service, inventory availability, and knowledgeable support are close by. The District Manager - Nova Scotia / Newfoundland, is in direct contact with all Rexel Atlantic personnel within the region, including the General Manager, District Managers, Branch Managers, Account Managers, Inside/Counter sales and with customers and suppliers. The individual is responsible for the development of strategy and budgetary goals and ensuring once adopted, that they are closely monitored and achieved.Responsibilities :Propose annual sales and operating budget for the District and once accepted by senior management, ensure it is communicated down to branch levelsMeet with key customers to discuss market trends, future business, resolve concerns, and increase customer awareness while supporting the sales and marketing plans within the customer baseProvide effective management through strong leadership and direction with immediate subordinates. Coordinate dealings with Rexel Atlantic departments, outside manufacturers, suppliers and customersEnsure staff receives the required levels of training by identifying future skills necessary to carryout assigned responsibilitiesMaintain focus towards company policies and objectives and encourage and maintain a cohesive team atmosphere to foster positive employee relationsEnsure operational efficiency and excellence through effective coordination of operational resources within the District and in concert with Divisional and Corporate personnelMeet Corporate objectives and expectations for quality, health and safety, and asset control initiatives Utilize and coordinate the services of the Marketing, Marketing Services, Product Management, Inventory Replenishment and Credit Management Departments for the effective growth of the region while ensuring risk is minimized and managedCreate, monitor and implement Supplier plans for regional growth while optimizing Rexel Atlantic’s opportunities for rebates and utilization of promotional funds, in concert with the plans for the Division. Skills / Qualifications:University/College degree plus a minimum of ten (10) years related experience in the industry, including at least five (5) years in a senior management capacity, or the equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong business acumen to analyze financial reports and to develop appropriate implementation strategies to meet/exceed operational/fiscal plans and targetsAbility to build strategic partnerships and identify potential sales opportunitiesStrong time management, organizational and planning skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to lead, mentor and coach staff.   Must be able to make difficult decisions.As a Rexel Atlantic employee, you will have the opportunity to:Think aheadWork with a great teamMake a personal impactLearn from the bestEarn the career you wantWe can offer people a remarkable range of career opportunities – whether that’s moving up in a particular area of expertise, or switching to something completely new.
