Principal Civil Engineer

Principal Civil Engineer - London Due to growth, my client are actively looking to hire a Principal Engineer to provide leadership to large Civils project teams or a number or smaller teams and help develop the infrastructure capability of a growing Civil and Structural department. The Principal Engineer will ensure that project teams deliver civil and structural designs to cost, schedule and quality criteria as well as ensure project teams have in place appropriate skills and resources. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on ensuring compliance with business quality & management systems as well as provide your innovative input in implementing change as directed by leadership. Responsibilities: ·Day-to-day management of Civils project teams ·Ensure team compliance with company management system ·Contribute to wider development of Civils and Structural department capabilities ·Lead design delivery across single projects or multiple smaller projects with support from an Associate Engineer or Director, in single- or multi- discipline teams ·Development of programmes and control of change ·Tender preparation for projects of all sizes, including fee estimates ·Carry out technical design reviews / critiques of projects in progress ·Mentor, train and develop junior engineers ·Support individuals to maximise performance Why this role? ·Fantastic opportunity to work across exciting and interesting sectors (Nuclear, Life Science, Defence, Power etc) ·Huge variety of different projects involving all facets of Design ·You'd be joining a diverse and dynamic team of technically strong design engineers who are passionate about making a positive impact in their communities through the work they do You will: ·Be a Chartered Member of ICE and/or IStructE ·Have an appropriate depth and breadth of experience including ability to demonstrate fully developed leadership and management capabilities both within project teams and for wider departmental and business duties ·SC clearance, or eligible for this ·Full Clean Current UK Driving Licence   Benefits  The network of offices are appealing, friendly and comfortable spaces.
