Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Senior Tax Analyst to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Tax in the Tax Compliance Department, part of Pembina’s Financial Services Division. 


The Tax Service Unit contributes to the development of long-term global growth strategies acting as proactive partners who are sought out for our expertise when making business decisions. By effectively identifying, assessing, communicating and managing tax risks and opportunities, the Tax team is a trusted business partner creating and protecting shareholder value in a globally compliant tax framework.


As a key contributor in the Tax Compliance Department, the Sr Tax Analyst will be responsible for corporate income tax related matters for Pembina and its subsidiaries, some of which includes Canadian compliance, corporate tax returns and Canadian partnership returns. 
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
  • Prepare Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns and other information returns;
  • Assist with the preparation of US federal and state income tax returns and other filings as required;
  • Prepare Canadian quarterly and annual tax accounting provisions;
  • Assist with the maintenance of tracking tax pools and tax basis information;
  • Assist with the preparation of responses to federal, provincial, and state income tax audits;
  • Provide tax support and guidance to our internal stakeholders; 
  • Assist with various income tax projects and research initiatives;
  • Monitor applicable tax legislation to proactively assess and determine impact of any proposals to the Company; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of dedicated experience in corporate, partnership, and/or international tax compliance is preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent degree;
  • Completion of a Canadian accounting designation (CPA/CA);
  • Completed or enrolled in CPA In-Depth Tax and willingness to complete the program;
  • Experience with income tax return and tax provision preparation for Canadian corporations and partnerships, some US tax knowledge is an asset, but not required;
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically in excel and a working knowledge of SAP and BPC is an asset; and 
  • Self-starter, detail-orientated, and capable of working under pressure to meet reporting deadlines.
     

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
