How will you create an impact: The Regional Diet Office Lead is responsible for overseeing the Regional Diet Office. This position performs duties including but not limited to supervising diet technicians and clerks, managing the day-to-day operations of the Regional Diet Office, and facilitating the Patient Choice Meal Service program. Together with the Manager and Regional Diet Office Dietitian, they are responsible for quality improvement projects, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring the Regional Diet Office adheres to best practices as per provincial regulations and industry standards. In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately. What will you work on: Supports Regional Diet Office staff by scheduling and co-ordinating work assignments, determining training and orientation requirements, and providing feedback to employees. Contacts scheduling office for relief staff as required. Coaches and mentors diet office staff and conducts performance evaluations. Responsible for staff recruitment and termination as applicable. Acts as a liaison between the Regional Diet Office and Dietitians, Clinical team, and other Allied Health members at the designated sites. Develops and implements standards and procedures for diet office support and Diet Management Software including Meditech. Works with the Manager to ensure the standardization of the Diet Management software and continuity of the Patient Choice Meal Service program across sites. Supports the Food Service Managers as required. Collaborates with the Regional Diet Office team to maintain, develop, make decisions, build, and implement changes, new programs and processes within the Regional Diet Office, Diet Management Software, and Patient Choice Meal Services program. Evaluates services provided through internal audits and brings forward ideas on best practices between Interior Health facilities. Uses audit results/metrics to guide changes related to Food Services that adhere to provincial and national standards and best practices while presenting Interior Health. Manages and develops patient satisfaction surveys, evaluates responses, and makes recommendations based on feedback received. Oversees and updates standards and procedures for the Regional Diet Office by reviewing and adapting existing standards to ensure that industry standards are met. Investigates and reports accidents and injuries and refers to the Manager for corrective action. Monitors and reports expenditures for assigned areas; makes recommendations regarding budget allocations and resolves discrepancies for the assigned areas. Reports inoperable equipment or damaged, unsafe equipment; assesses need and writes maintenance repair requisitions as required. Keeps related records. Performs other related duties as required.
