What are your contributions to the team?
• Develop structure and system installation conceptual layouts for the complete Airframe on new and existing aircraft programs.
• Closely interface with stress, systems, interiors, and support functions such as thermodynamics, mass properties, etc.
• Generate preliminary design studies and layouts using 3D modeling.
• Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
• Generate and execute weight savings ideas.
• Supply input to impact analysis (technical, cost, schedule).
• Support directly other engineering and operations departments.
• Support design and program reviews with partner/suppliers.
• Provide status for project and functional management.
• Manage design changes through all the cycles of the change management process.
How to thrive in this role?
Skills, knowledge & experience:
You have a technologist or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or aerospace technical field plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in aerospace or related industry. You must possess a strong knowledge of aircraft structures and/or systems installation: configuration, preliminary sizing, design for manufacturing, detail design (sheet metal, machined parts, piping, component assembly, GD&T), material and processes, certification requirements, weight control and industry design standards. You have a strong familiarity in aerospace manufacturing processes and capabilities. Your familiarity with aircraft systems overall operation and function is considered an asset. Your familiarity with in-service operation and aircraft maintenance is an asset. Your familiarity with Aircraft Interiors is considered an asset. You have knowledge of CATIA V5, Enovia, and MS Office is required. Knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset. You are an energetic person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a high sense of commitment, are willing to accept responsibilities and act independently in a high-pressure partner/supplier team. You must be fluent in English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
