Who we are looking forWe are looking for an experienced Sustainability Manager with a strong understanding of sustainability and climate risk. You will have the opportunity to work with the Head of Sustainability in a fast-paced environment, with numerous opportunities for the right candidate. Experience in managing others is key.Join us if making your mark in the financial services industry from day one is a challenge you are up for.What you will be responsible forAs Sustainability Manager, Assistant Vice President you will:Support the implementation of the Sustainability Framework, Governance, European regulatory and industry expectations.Interpret analysis and deep dives of regulatory requirements and expectations.Oversee and manage the Sustainability Team Project Managers, ensuring timely deliverables.Track and update all remediations in the Compliance system as well as in MI reporting.Support and oversee the sustainability team in various tasks including implementing key processes and controls for e.g. ad hoc completion of clients' sustainability-related questionnaires.Assist in managing Audit, Compliance and Regulatory exams (front to back for the business).Manage and oversee the sustainability governance process, including supporting the preparation of Sustainability Committee material, minute production, and action tracking.Develop and deliver sustainability training for employees and clients as we support clients in transitioning to a sustainable economy.Develop qualitative and quantitative monitoring and reporting (including KPIs) of sustainability.Collaborate with global Sustainability and Climate Impact teams in the preparation of reporting documents (e.g., CSRD, SASB, TCFD, research reports, Sustainability Report, SEC disclosures, etc).Produce management presentations and support the administrative tasks of the Sustainability Committees.Maintain a thorough knowledge of the process, products, trends, and developments within the industries and sectors and themes researched from an ESG perspective.What we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this role:Relevant experience with a minimum of 4 years in the sustainability industry with a focus on regulatory methodology development.Experience in sustainability strategy, financial risk management, policy, and framework rollout.Be a team player who is genuinely passionate about creating an impact in the sustainability space.A firm understanding of industry standards and regulatory developments in the EU.Strong critical thinking and the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.A strategic mindset with an eye for commercial development and the ability to credibly opine on sustainability frameworks.Understands the value of diversity in the workplace and is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture in all aspects of working life.Education & Preferred QualificationsMinimum of 7 years of work experience, of which at least 4 years is in sustainability.Good understanding of sustainability strategy, framework, and governance.Strong understanding of the European regulatory landscape.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Additional requirementsTravel up to 25% may be required.Fluency in English and a European language is advantageous.About State StreetWhat we do: State Street is one of the largest custodian banks, asset managers, and asset intelligence companies in the world.
