Crane Engineer Permanent £44k Circa Location: Manchester HQ An exciting opportunity has arisen due to expansion! Our client is seeking an experienced Crane Engineer to join their dynamic team and established leading crane hire business that services clients across the UK. Primarily working within the workshop function, you will be tasked with carrying out repairs to the crane fleet, you will also be tasked with carrying out rigging & derigging of the company’s cranes. The role will involve working on equipment both in the workshop and at various locations across the UK. The ideal candidate would have experience of working with cranes. The candidate will have the ability to carry out repairs on mechanic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults on mobile cranes, mobile tower, crawler cranes. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, be health & safety conscious, is eager to learn with a willingness to work for a forward-thinking family run company. In Return you will Receive * In house training/manufacturers training * Competitive salary * Holiday entitlement is 23 days holidays per year plus bank holidays. * Company pension * Company van & fuel card * Full PPE Key Responsibilities * Performance servicing, maintenance on plant in the workshop & yard as required. * Assist workshop staff with preventative maintenance and servicing for all cranes and plant. * Be lead engineer for the rigging/derigging of hydraulic lattice and telescopic cranes across the UK. * Assist workshop staff to ensure duties are being carried out efficiently and accurately. * Accurately maintain service records for each asset detailing all faults, repairs, service dates etc. * Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times. * Be flexible to work away from home with occasional extended hours to assist with rigging/derigging, this may involve occasional weekend working. * Secure necessary materials and parts for the work in good time, ordering/ chasing from suppliers if necessary. * Provide technical advice to ensure shortest possible downtime for vehicles. * Continually seek to improve the way in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives. * Undertake other duties that management may reasonably request. * Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience * Previous experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing faults with mechanical & hydraulic machinery. * A knowledge of the assembly & disassembly of machinery, plant and/or equipment. Skills/Attributes/Competencies * Ability to diagnose common errors/faults with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on mobile cranes, crawler cranes. * Ability to carry out repairs on mechanic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
