If so, this would be a great opportunity for you!Our client, a top 5 bank, is looking for a Fund Accountant for a 6 month contract in Mississauga. This is hybrid role - 2-3 days from the office at the moment, subject to change based on the management decision. There is a high chance this contract will extend and convert to permanent opportunity.Pay rate: $27.50 - $33.69 / HourWorking Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM Overtime is required, based on business needs in an unexpected eventsAdvantages•Gain experience working for a leading and globally recognized organization•Earn a competitive rate within the industry•Potential for contraction extension and conversion•Hybrid role•Long term contract•Training provided•Start ASAPResponsibilitiesAs a Fund Accountant, your duties will be:•Ensuring all required data for producing the NAV are available and quality ensured (corporate action, pricing) and prepare the Net Asset Value (NAV) for the funds assigned•Reconciling unit holder capital stock, cash, and security holdings and investigate and clear all outstanding issues in a timely manner•Analyzing & reconciling the general ledger to sub-ledger and resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner•Calculating performance fees (if applicable) and investigate, document, and escalate issues/events•Preparing the calculation of year-end distributions of income, capital gains and related tax issues•Delivering quality customer service through timely and accurate report delivery•Maintaining any client on-site reports in an organized manner and ensure all daily valuations reports are accounted for and stored for audit purposes•Minimizing NAV discrepancies and ensure timely corrective action•Liaising with external custodians/3rd parties for the accurate and timely computation of the funds NAV•Adhering to all regulatory requirements and accounting standards•Maintaining strong working knowledge of the various accounting policies for different fund typesQualifications•Post-secondary degree in related field (Accounting or Finance related)•Securities industry knowledge•Accounting experience - working knowledge of GAAP/IFRS•Strong analytical skills•Strong Microsoft Office Skills: Excel, Word•Accuracy•Detail-oriented•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & under tight deadlinesNice to have:•Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Mutual Funds Course (IFIC)•Working towards an accounting (or related) qualification desirable but not compulsory•Previous analytical exposure is desirable•Knowledge of MPower & pControl an asset•VBA skills•Good technical knowledge on calculating Net Asset Value, preparing financial statementsSoft skills:•Dealing with Ambiguity•Independent, confident, self-motivated•Demonstrated teamwork•Concern for order and qualityTechnical:•Good understanding of fund accounting and net asset value computation process for investment funds•Fund product knowledge•Good computer literacy SummaryInterested in the Fund Accountant role in Mississauga?
