About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Controller to join our team at Flogas Britain. As a key member of our Fleet Maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal maintenance of our vehicle assets, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
Reporting to the Senior Fleet Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of mechanical repairs, reviewing repair costs and negotiating with suppliers as required. You will also be responsible for sourcing parts, arranging repairs for breakdowns and advising our breakdown service provider on suitable repair locations.
As a Maintenance Controller, you will work closely with our operations, logistics and repair partners to ensure our vehicle maintenance requirements are met. You will be a key part of our team, driving continuous improvement and ensuring our fleet is always running at its best.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on daily Vehicle On Road (VOR) status, liaising with workshops, fleet maintenance colleagues and repair agents to optimize vehicle downtime
- Manage the workflow through the Tranman vehicle management system, reviewing provisional repair spend and approving as necessary
- Review and negotiate/amend quoted repair prices with workshops and manufacturers
- Work with our repair agents to ensure the best value is achieved for Flogas Britain while ensuring our critical delivery assets are returned to use in a timely manner
- Accountable for identifying areas where our preventative maintenance regime can be improved to the benefit of Flogas Britain
About You
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-focused individual with excellent analytical and communication skills. You will have a strong understanding of HGV maintenance and repair, as well as commercial and business acumen. You will be confident in managing suppliers and national account managers, and have a passion for delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
