We are looking for a self-starter who can work within a highly professional, fast-paced and focused strategic business partnering team, who is also comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities. This person will be supporting the Insurance Transformation Business Partners with in-depth data analysis and storytelling to drive the transformation agenda. With a proven insurance and program management track record, the incumbent will be able to listen, identify, document and provide solution support in various forums and of varying topics. This individual will require the ability to share any risks, issues and/or dependencies at the program and portfolio level. 

The Transformation Specialist will be part of a high performing team that delivers outcomes that support our business transformation and align with the Aviva’s strategic objectives. This position requires the ability to work with varying levels of leadership across the organization, have excellent communication skills and stakeholder management. You will need to combine cross-functional business insights with analysis capabilities, coupled with a background and proven experience in project management and insurance.

What you’ll do

  • Strategic Roadmap

    • Develop, define and track various insurance portfolio initiatives + BAU, Small, Medium, Large initiatives highlighting key dependencies in partnership with Transformation Partner.

  • Intake Support

    • Provide support on intake of new initiatives across the portfolio including prioritization and funding efforts for each initiative while ensuring the business is adhering to the Aviva Change Framework.

  • Insurance Transformation Forum

    • Create and maintain regular status and pack for the monthly Transformation Forum, in collaboration with the Op Sponsors/business owners and IT leads, detailing project dependencies, status, risks, and achievements. Send action items as required.

  • Stakeholder Communication

    • Act as a communication bridge between project teams, the TMO (Transformation Management Office), and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in project updates and requirements.

  • Risk and Issue Management

    • Proactively identify, document, and assist in resolving risks and issues within the project portfolio, escalating significant matters to higher management within the TMO directly.

  • Process Improvement

    • Contribute to enhancing TMO processes and methodologies, adopting best practices in project tracking and management.

  • Change Management Support

    • Support the creation and execution of change management strategies to ensure that organizational changes are communicated effectively and adopted smoothly. Proactively engage key stakeholders to analyze the demand for resources.

What you’ll bring

  • Related University Degree in IT, Finance or Business.

  • 5-8 years of project and or portfolio delivery experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of the Canadian P&C Industry and its regulatory environment is required.

  • Strong background in Insurance is required, 5+ years

  • Strong program management background and a deep understanding of the risks inherent in delivering an organizational change

  • Finance background with the ability to build and monitor business cases for projects and under cost/benefit analysis and key performance indicators.

  • Demonstrated track record of developing efficient and effective processes in order to improve delivery and ensure that goals and targets are met on a consistent basis.

  • 3+ years industrial experience in Business Intelligence Analytics or Reporting

  • Previous experience working with senior stakeholders and in a cross functional team environment.

  • Proven ability to embrace and lead change, be highly adaptable and flexible, decisive and display excellent judgment.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence both orally and in writing, complicated subject matters to senior executive team and critical business partners.

  • Robust problem-solving skills, capable of identifying and addressing risks and issues, ensuring the smooth progress of transformation projects.

  • A zest for a fast moving, complex and sometimes ambiguous workday with the ability to juggle and prioritize work while providing timely and valuable outputs.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable, and a collaborative team player

  • Knowledge of Jira/Confluence is an asset.

  • CIP is preferred but not required.
