Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare the design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection, etc.
  2. Prepare the contract documents including the specifications.
  3. Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
  4. Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
  5. Coordinate with other disciplines both internally and externally.
  6. Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
  7. Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
  8. Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline required.
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.
  • 7+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
  • Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset.
