Responsibilities:
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe manner, following procedures at all times.
- Install new or rebuilt equipment as per work order.
- Weld, cut and repair parts as per work order.
- Repair/overhaul equipment (e.g., pumps, motors, blowers, etc.)
- Dismantle, clean, and re-install machine components including extruder screw, extruder die, polishing rolls, oven heaters, toggle assemblies, etc.
- Perform machine start-up.
- Carry out general building maintenance (e.g., painting, minor plumbing, etc.).
- Prepare Hot Work Permits.
- Communicate the status/completion of work assignments to the Shift Supervisor.
- Assist with tooling changes.
- Engage in general housekeeping of your work area.
- Complete assigned activities.
- Actively participate in 6S and other Lean initiatives.
- Undertake electrical control voltage troubleshooting and repairs.
Requirements:
- Possess a positive attitude.
- Ticketed Millwright, 433A Industrial Mechanic.
- Welding, fabricating, and machine re-building experience.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English (technical documents) and other written material related to the job.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Basic computer skills – ability to effectively utilize software.
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
- Able to work in a hot and humid environment.
- Previous experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Sound understanding of industrial controls networks.
- Sound understanding of industrial drives.
