Its corporate office is located in Edmonton, Alberta and Head Office is located on the Samson Cree Nation in Maskwacis, Alberta.The OpportunityThis is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced commercial lender with deep knowledge of credit compliance and risk management to play a significant role in positioning Peace Hills Trust (PHT) for future growth and success. Reporting to the Vice President of Credit, the AVP, Credit Compliance & Risk will ensure the health and quality of PHT’s credit portfolio by maintaining clear, concise, and compliant Credit Policies and Guidelines and performing ongoing credit quality reviews.Responsibilities:Facilitate sound lending practices and mitigate credit risk by creating, reviewing, and recommending revisions to credit policies that meet PHT’s strategic goals and objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.Develop detailed credit guidelines that outline the processes for credit underwriting, credit evaluation, credit adjudication & approval, account monitoring, etc.Take the lead in the preparation, analysis, and review of summaries and other information, including ICAAP, required by federal regulatory bodies such as OSFI, FCAC, StatsCan, along with internal and external audit.Ensure the Policies and Guidelines adequately address potential credit risks associated with PHT’s lending activities.Establish protocols for ongoing credit monitoring and quality reviews, monitor the loan portfolios for relevant trends and insights, and provide credit risk reports to senior management and the Board.Monitor and continually improve reporting mechanisms to track and communicate the performance of the credit portfolio.Effectively communicate changes in credit policies and guidelines to stakeholders and provide training and guidance to employees involved in credit decisions.Liaise and maintain strong relationships with the credit functions across the business lines to ensure that credit policies are adhered to in the organization.Regularly review and update credit policies, guidelines, and forms to adapt to changing market conditions, economic environment, emerging risks, and regulatory changes.Review the branches’ out-of-order, watch list and non-performing loan reports, and provide approval or recommendations as to action plans and remedial procedures.Advise on new products and initiatives in compliance and alignment with the company’s credit risk appetite and strategic goals.The Ideal CandidateAs the ideal candidate, you have experienced the full range of commercial lending. You have successfully built and underwritten a book of business, developed policies and procedures, and performed credit reviews to maintain the quality and compliance of the portfolio. Your strong attention to details, problem solving abilities, and sound judgement have helped you identify and respond to emerging risks and opportunities. A skilled relationship builder, you have a highly collaborative approach to seeking mutually beneficial solutions and are dedicated to best practices in compliance and credit risk management.Qualifications and Requirements:Minimum of five years of experience in commercial lending and credit underwriting, along with a background in compliance, regulatory, or audit.An advanced degree and / or designation (e.g. MBA, CFA, CBV, CPA) would be an asset.Solid understanding of financial and credit analysis.Strong digital literacy including working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Adobe Forms.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Ability to establish effective relationships with various partners and parties.Sound problem solving skills and judgment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Excellent risk analysis skills, with the ability to work through complex situations and yield solutions.To be considered for this outstanding opportunity, please forward your resume to: #J-18808-Ljbffr
