The Ontario Cannabis Store provides safe, responsible access to recreational cannabis for adults 19 and older. We operate the sole legal online store for recreational cannabis in Ontario and are the provincial wholesaler of cannabis for private retail stores. About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Strategy Analyst to join our Strategy & Transformation team! The Senior Strategy Analyst will be pivotal in aiding the Strategic Planning & Business Excellence team. Their responsibilities include supporting the annual strategic planning cycle through development to execution, analyzing and reporting on the evolving business environment (internal/external), and formulating recommendations to guide strategic decision-making. Additionally, the analyst will cultivate and maintain relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure organizational strategic alignment. About Your Day Work both independently and with internal cross-functional subject matter experts to perform thorough, systematic analysis of key industry trends; the general social economic and political environment; legal and regulatory issues; customers; current and potential competitors. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports, market research, data manipulation and financial modeling and analysis. Continuously evaluate internal processes and capabilities and identify opportunities for optimization Translate the above information and analyses into actionable insights and sound recommendations to inform senior leadership’s strategic business decisions Drive processes for ongoing collection of data and ensure analyses of macro trends, market, customer, and competitor intelligence remain evergreen. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverage them across the company where appropriate. Work with the S&T team to evaluate Where to Play and How to Play in the market Collaborate with internal stakeholders to supply the market and competitive intelligence component of strategic planning, and proactively make recommendations concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration/exploration. Support in creating processes, templates, and tools for efficient corporate KPI analysis and reporting Evaluate potential risks and operational impacts (org. design, existing initiative pipeline/roadmap, organizational change impacts, IT architecture roadmap, etc.) associated with strategic plan. Work with internal strategy network to enhance their use of strategic analysis and market and competitor intelligence. Support the S&T team through leading a range of strategy initiatives, including: Assist developing the processes, templates, and tools to assess strategic alignment of projects and monitor/report on their anticipated benefits Portfolio analysis and alignment Strategic capability assessment - departmental and cross-functional Frame, scope and analyze strategic problems and recommend best courses of action Generate strategy collateral necessary for key decision-making activities (e.g. strategy sessions, corporate reporting, budget planning). Undertake ad hoc projects requested by the Director, Strategic Planning & Business Excellence. About You MBA or relevant graduate degree is preferred Project management experience or PMP designation is an asset 2-3 years of experience with a consulting professional service firm, and/ or in Consumer Packed Goods or Public Sector with a focus on strategy 2+ years working experience in Wholesaler/Distributor is nice to have Expert in Microsoft Excel (including financial modelling), PowerPoint and Word Experience with presenting to groups, including senior leaders, with confidence and poise About the Job This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule. The current in office requirement is a minimum of 3 days/week (may be more depending on business needs). The OCS office is located near York Mills and Yonge Street. However, OCS reserves the right to change this policy and its office location at any time. City: Toronto, ON Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Required Travel: Rare, usually within the GTA Compensation The target hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. This is a pay grade 6 role, with a salary range of $71,066.63 - $106,316.64. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
