Title: Senior Product Manager

Reports to: CEO

Location: Montreal, QC

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an energic and ambitious Senior Product Manager to join our dynamic SaaS startup that will report directly to the CEO. This new role requires a strong technical expertise and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in full stack development and a deep understanding of the FinTech market. The candidate will lead the product development lifecycle, ensuring that the products align with business goals and customer needs. Additionally, the Product Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time and provide leadership and mentorship to our engineering team. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Lead the product development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to define product requirements and deliver high-quality products on time.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the FinTech market, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Utilize strong technical skills in full stack development (Java, JavaScript, React) to contribute to product architecture and design decisions.
  • Oversee and manage deployments in Azure and Kubernetes environments, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Lead project management efforts, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and progress tracking, to ensure timely delivery of product milestones.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Maintain a competitive edge by conducting competitive market research to identify pertinent industry trends.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is an agile and ambitious product professional with a versatile range of technical and strategic skills and experience. With a “roll-up-the-sleeves” mentality, the successful candidate will be able to embrace and navigate the startup landscape. A self-starter, the candidate is skillful in collaborating with cross-functional teams to create, execute, and manage the product lifecycle.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 to 9 years of experience in Product and Engineering Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the FinTech industry.
  • Proven technical expertise in full stack development, particularly with Java, JavaScript, and React.
  • Comfortable leading fast prototyping and reviewing APIs and data.
  • Experience implementing machine learning, AI, and Large Language Models.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with experience in agile methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities – including leading by example.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for FinTech and a desire to stay ahead of industry trends and best practices.
  • Ambitious, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing startup environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills in both French and English.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an asset.
