Role PurposeReporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist will work closely with the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) teams to execute strategic sourcing activities. Key Responsibilities Include: Data collection, analysis and defining business needs.Develop sourcing & procurement strategies and plans together with Procurement Managers that meets business and organizational needs.Prepare business case, Total Cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and development of (RFx).Lead the planning, development, and implementation of risk-managed cost-effective flow of goods and service to support the business needs. Identify and capture the demand, identified potential suppliers and establish a communication channel towards the suppliers.Negotiate pricing, delivery, terms and supplier performance conditions to satisfy financial, quality and delivery requirements. Prepare and coordinate RFP/RFQ Process and establish sourcing strategies for suppliers and services.Solicit quotations and analyze contract proposals while leading formulation of strategy and negotiation of pricing, delivery, terms, and conditions to satisfy requirements for highly complex and specialized materials, equipment, components, and services.Specific Duties:Assist with the bid process including NDA’s, meetings, issuance, closing, evaluation, and awarding of quotes, tenders, and RFP’s.Promote procurement strategies, scopes of work, specifications, and scoring.Maintain records and documentation on all solicitations with vendors.Analyze and evaluate all elements of cost for commodity groups to identify improvements.Conduct spend analysis and ad-hoc audits to identify category opportunities and develop sourcing strategy.Responsible for managing tail spend and maximizing compliance to GIP contracts and agreements.Develop strategies and tactics to maximize supplier base cost/value.Lead the quarterly business reviews with suppliers to align GIP and supplier expectations and priorities. Create baselines for newly negotiated contracts to track savings. Conduct research and due diligence to understand market trends and best practices to provide strategic outlooks for the category. Document category status updates, timelines, project status, next steps.Manage and measure process performance against KPIs and ROI of technology and knowledge work.Present and speak to large groups or in training environments about SS&P roadmap initiatives.Create detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis of various material and service categories to lay out the strategic direction for sourcing activities.Conduct research to bring up-to-date market knowledge, industry trends, and innovation to identify new vendors and build relationships with them.Manage contract compliance while identifying opportunities for improvement, work with Regional Procurement Managers on strategies to increase compliance.Responsible for developing relationships with key internal staff to analyze and implement solutions that meet specific needs of GIP Business UnitsAny other duties as required by the business.Functional Competencies:Delivers new value for GIP through sourcing materials and services for business needsDevelops collaborative relationships with business partners to frame and execute sourcing strategiesLeverages SS&P operating model elements to execute effectively across GIP’s differentiated BusDevelops supplier relationships founded on mutuality, business security, and sustained valueLeadership Competencies:Develops functional and leadership talentsDelivers consistent resultsCreates collaborative relationships with intentionality and mutualityEffective communicationManages emotions in self and other (EI)Position RequirementsThis is an in-office role based in Markham, Ontario. To be successful in this role you will need:7+ years of progressive experience in challenging roles in sourcing and procurement.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in procurement, project management, or a relevant logistics role.Procurement certifications are considered an asset. Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment. Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyse and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business. Must be a self-starter who is willing to work on their own initiative and goal focused.Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives. Superb communication and interpersonal and presentation skills.Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities. Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
